help with what to add to substrate

Pls bear with me, I am new to this. This is what I have so far as my growth medium/substrate for growing P. cubensis:
1/3 - 1/2 cup vermiculite
1/8 cup brown rice flower
50mL dH2O containing 0.1g tryptamine HCl
Can anyone suggest anything else it would be beneficial to add, and in what quantities? H2O2? Dextrose? Or is that just for agar?
Many thanks for your patience with my question,
IudexK

See grow/find on this site, there are a number of teks there, find something that appeals to you, do it. That's how we all started - we read a lot, we found something that made sense or seemed like we could make it work, we did it, and we either succeeded and/or learned from our mistakes and moved on. Do similarly. People on this site are very happy to help, but most would prefer you demonstrate that you have done a little homework first. I am *not* flaming you at all - just encouraging you to read and internalize. The logic of what you're doing will mean a lot more to you then.

Instead of tap or distilled water use a good quality mineral water (Gerolstein) or a tspn. of food grade kelp in your substrate to provide adequate minerals. Gypsum (CaSO4) is added to provide sulfur which the mycelium uses in it's metabolism (not to adjust the Ph). That sorta covers the mineral additives???

Although spring water is preferred, you won't be setback by using tap water if the sterilization is done correctly..Secondly, if you are doing this for the first time, just go with the straightforward formula without any kind of additives..you will do fine.

Thankyou, I did look at the grow-teks in the grow/find section and in Erowid's mushroom cultivation vaults, but they just seemed to offer different substrates - not additives... How much CaSO4 should be added? Will MgSO4 work instead? What if these are already contained in the mineral water?
Many thanks,

"The Mushroom Cultivator" by Stamets & Chilton will have the proper amounts of CaCO3 and CaSO4 to use for substrate. Do not use MgSO4 (Magnesium Sulphate/Epsom Salts) for your 'shrooms, I forget why except that its not a good thing to do:(

Or if you leave in an area like me, where you can chew your water, then tap has probably just as many, if not more, dissolved minerals as mineral water.

Can't I just use mineral water? Someone said to use a dilute solution of H2O2... is this a good idea? How about a 0.5% soln. of H2O2 in mineral water?
Many thanks,

There's no point using h2o2 in your substrate, h2o2 is used in proper ratios to fight contams, also all the h2o2 will breakdown when you sterilize the jars, as you see pointless. Mineral water works good, anyway just stick to the essential for starting.
