a horrible experience

Saturday night, i hit the sack at around 4:00 or so in the AM, with my glass door to my patio area open so i can have fresh air circulating. I wake up at 7:15 to a complete stranger standing halfway in my door asking me if he can use my phone. I tried to make some excuses but he was extremely persistent, and being as groggy as i was , i figured id let him make a call and hed get the fuck out of here, so he comes in.
First thought, "Big mistake". A total asian gangbanger, tatted up and wearing obvious gang attire (I live in downtown LA...this isnt a suburb and some fake-ass). So he comes in and uses my phone, while im freaking out thinking im about to get robbed or hurt. I hear him on the phone with his friend as he says "Yeah man, i got out in early december". Awesome, a former convict, even better. Next thing he says to me is "Can i crash here man?". WTH is going on? i dont know this guy, so of course he cant crash.
I step outside to have a cigarette since im freaking out, and notice that a towel that i had sitting on my balcony is now missing. I look down at the ground, and see it about 10 feet to the left of my apartment, neatly laid out with another smaller towel on top of it. So i go to grab it, and immidiately notice some odd coloring on the smaller towel, an orangish discoloration on a sky blue towel. So im freaking out now. I come back to the edge of my patio area and ask him as hes having a cigarette if he's ok, and if everything is allright..he says yes.
So he tells me a story that he was with a group of friends in the marriott hotel down the street from me (Remember that one boo? :P) when he got locked out, and his friends run off. Ok bullshit detector on full alarm, why doesnt he go to the front desk to get a key? Probably because he wasnt staying there. At this point my guess is that he got in a fight with someone at a party and did something stupid, and is now running from either people or the cops(at one point while we were outside when a siren passed by he looked all panicked and came back inside immidiately).
So im thinking, i need to get this guy out of my apartment, but i dont want to be forceful since i have no idea if he'll be violent. This guy also could have easily whooped on me, no problem...these guys dont fuck around down here, and im just a stupid white boy from USC...id get pwned.
so finally, after 3, yes 3 fucking hours of him resisting any attempts of mine to get him to leave, i get him to leave, by basically turning off my computer and practically pushing him out of my room.
So heres the shit, i call the cops, no help, i tell security, they dont take it very seriously....im seriously worried here, because in his state, i became somewhat of a comrade to him...and im afraid he might come back sometime. He wanted my name and number, for me to drive him home...i mean, shit.
So now my windows are always locked with the blinds closed, and my room feels violated and foreign to me. I hate this place, im so glad i only have 1 semester left.
keep your windows locked :P

the best idea would have been for me to say no, and shut the door in his face, except he was already in my room...like when i looked up he was in the process of walking through my door, and when he asked me if he could use the phone, he was already in my room. Random stranger in my room in downtown LA...im not going to be antagonistic..that is a huge mistake. The cops and everyone told me i did the right thing, they just said next time keep my windows locked.

Glad you're safe. I'd of been worried to.
