Dude, roaches are nature's biggest survivors. They'll be around long after we're gone. In an evolutionary sense, roaches are at the top. As for platypi(I'm guessing that's the plural of platypus), they r0xX0r my s0xX0rz!!!!!!!!1111one

Mmmmm, Platipus....  One of the few egg-laying mammals, and one of the few true purveyors of fine trance music coming out of the UK...

Strange creatures, egg-laying mammals, with a beak, and aren't they poisonous too with some kind of stinger on the flappy part of their ass?

Actually, I believe that stinger is in their hind legs. But ya, I believe they're the only venomous mammal.

The platypus...proof that God takes acid!

I'm pretty sure I saw one in the wild when I was in Australia. It was in this river just below this dam to the east of Brisbane. We were up on a high river bank so it was a ways off. I looked down and saw it swimming along and the first thing that popped into my head (having spent my life in the wilds of the western US) was "Oh look, a beaver". Then I realized they had no beaver there. The only thing I assumed it could be was a platypus.

Can anyone in Australia confirm that they have platypus in this area (East of Brisbane, possibly near the Wivenhoe dam)? And what else (if anything) might I have seen swimming along that could've looked similar to a beaver from a distance?

Plattys are one of my favorite animals. They look all cute and goofy till one hits you with that spur. Just watch as the stung area inflates like a ballon. Those things are bad ass.

I thought they've only stung people like 3 or 4 times in the last hundred years?
