timer
    #3737182 - 02/05/05 07:56 PM (19 years, 2 months ago)

Where can my cousin get a timer that would turn on his humidifier for 15 minutes and off for an hour or two. He said he checked lowes and they only had ones that would turn on and off for hours at a time... a manufacturer name or name of timer would help alot...or a link to one that would work.
thanks guys!

Hey bruce, I haven't had a timer in a lot of years, but try radio shack.
I had a timer from there one time that had plastic pegs that you stick where you want, you can set it up to go on and off all day long.
They used to sell a bag of pegs seperately.
Let us know if they do...

Yeah I had a hard time finding a timer to do small intervals. From what I've seen only the digital timers do that. They're more expensive but worth the investment. I got mine at home depot...it's an Intermatic also. I heard Target has some too.

bruceallen: the one i found at home depot has 14 separate settings. for each setting you set the time (and even the day if you need) that it turns ON in addition to the the time it turns OFF.

so for example, on my timer for an ultrasonic:

Program #1 is 12:00-ON then 12:15-OFF (7 days a week)
Program #2 is 2:00-ON then 2:15-OFF
...through Program #12 to cover a 24hr period

My American friend says he got a digital one at home depot for about $25 that had 20 programmable on and off settings. The only reason i remember this is because he was very pissed off when he had to set it up - he said that you had to plug in an (On time) - then and - (off time) 40x until you had your times perfect. I can see how this would piss someone off, it sounds like wynzlo is talking about the same one thou.

Yeah it sounds like mine works the same way. It's definitely annoying to setup initially but once it's done - it's done.

bruceallen: yeah that's exactly what that example is doing...15 minutes every two hours

Any one know of a timer that has more settings? I would like to be able to turn on my ultra sonic every hour. The timer mentioned above only allows for every 2 hours.
