Does anyone know how about long (I know there are variables) after Innoculation w/ spore syringe, one can expect signs of mycelium growth?

"Reality" is the only word in the language wich should always be used in quotes.

...depends on the substrate compound.

On millet (ground) and vermiculite mix my batch showed mycelial growth within two days after innoculation (!) and has been rapidly blooming since (innoculated on 1 Aug.)

On brown rice (whole) it took about a week before there were any signs of growth, and on rye grass seed (again, whole) it's taken about two weeks.

After I've got a wholly innnoculated cake, 'am going to try for mycelial innoculation of substate variant mixes using ground brown rice/vermiculite and ground ryegrass seed/vermiculite. 'will post results if anyone's interested.

Also, water... 'using Gerolsteiner mineral wasser mixed with organic 'Neptune's Harvest' fish and seeweed fertilizer for that wonderful 'pond' effect.

My friend's substrate was roughly 60%rye grass seed, 35%vermiculite, 5%brf.......so I'll tell him to give it 2-3 weeks before starting to worry

Make sure the temperature is in the high 70's, low 80's, because if it's too cold, they wont colonize very quickly...
