yes, hunting mushrooms in any habitat is rather hit or miss.

all you gotta do is keep looking in the right kind of places at the right time of year for the species in question, if you do, you will eventually find what you're looking for, simple as that.

those temps sounds a bit cool for cubes to me...

Cow pastures, IMHO, are only good if your working on ID'ing, I started there identifying many edibles and MANY panaeolus species (which are easy to ID IMO). If your looking for actives, find the time of year they will be popping up and return then. happy hunting...

Yes it is hit or miss especially when your not in the Right area to be lookin for cubes as you are... Head south a lil bit and east a bit more, then you will find them For sure.. just dont give Up like I almost did a couple years ago

like cube428 said those temps arent too cold but they are not ideal either thats about whats its been around here and i found one cube a couple days ago and quite a few non-actives today so i'd say wait til it warms up a little more then they should be plentiful
