dung innoculation

i tried casing straw with cow dung...dung was moist but wrung out so it wasnt dripping, and mixzed with a small amount of presoaked coir...piled it like 2 inches thick in a tray with 3" of colonized stray and covered it with saran wrap, after a week and a few days there was NO coloniztion, myceluim hadnt even grown into the very bottom of the dung

I usually mix it all up together and it takes a week or 2 to colonize depending on strain. I tried casing with it once and it took a lot longer.

Usually failed dung will let you know. . .take a little whiff near the edge of the saran wrap.
