One other question

When useing perlite or any "substrate" for humidity. You would definelty want that sterile..correct. I can throw in jars and pressure cook it. I suppose its just a wise thing to do anyways. dumb question.

Yeah, you don't really "need" to, but it wouldn't hurt. It will decrease your risk of contams, I'd say, by about 5%.
