So in the reccent month, I've found that I've become a bit of a perfectionist, not so much in the sense that everything I do has to be perfect, but in the sense that I'm always trying to be better at what I do, consequently, I've brought my grades waaaaaay up and I'm happy with that. And I thought that most if not all areas of my life were following suit. However it turns out that at work, that is not the case. In fact I have one week, or basically since I only work 3 days in the next week 3 days, until I'm fired. Yes, FIRED. Basically whats happened is my manager has said I'm a negative person (everyone here knows thats not true) and that I don't do my job. What has really happened is I've become the scape goat taking the fall for my colleagues mistakes. I know this because it has directly happened. One girl missed a table (I'm a waitress) and I got in shit for it, right in front of her and there was nothing I could do. So I have 3 days to make it better, to improve, the thing is, I don't know what needs improvement, my manager never told me, so know that I'm already doing everything I can do, what more do I do to make it better? like really I just came home to a stack of bills...now is not the time to be jobless.

Life sucks this way sometimes. Sounds like kind of a catch 22.
You could try to expose the fact that you're just being used as a scapegoat... but then you'd look like a snitch, or like you're trying to pass the blame, and probably still get fired, even if you're telling the truth.
I'd keep doing your best, and then if you still get fired... which sadly seems kind of inevitable, make a nice big scene. Loudly, and in front of the customers, yell about how you're going to report them to the health board because of the chef with the skin condition that is obviously falling into the food. Stuff like that.
Maybe this will fit perfectly into the bettering of your life, your next job has the potential to be a whole lot better. So there's that too.

So did the other waitress fess up for her mistakes and defend you?
Honestly in a competitive cut throat environment sometimes tough decisions have to be made. Do what you have to do to make sure that your ass is covered. Ive learned this the hard way, because no one is going to do it for you. If the other waitress deliberately let you take the fall for her mistakes then maybe its time you push back a bit.
And one word of advice, if you do go down, do NOT burn the bridges. Trust me, enemies today become friends tomorrow and vice versa.

Dump a bottle of visene in the managers drink. He will be shittin and maybe puking all night. Thats all I would do. Good job on the grades.

my best advise is keep trying to do your best and if your maneger does not see it and still fires you its for a reason... maybe there is an even better job out there thats waiting for you... I know it sucks when you lose a job but there are so many more out there today that it will be okay if you get fired.. there something better waiting for you!

I'm going with BanJankri reply. If you are not appreciated at the job you are at it can be very stressful and you obviously don't need the stress nobody does.
At my last job i was fired because two of the employees decided to team up on me and accuse me of using drugs and I have been sober for a long time now and enjoying it.
Work sucks, try and start your own business and become your own boss.

You know getting fired might not be that bad. You get unemployment.
I never got fired or laid off a job before, and a part of me actually is curious about how that feels. I dont want to lose my job, but I really wonder what it feels like to have security escort me out of the building for a change.

VERY TRUE you can get it for up to 1 year then after the year is up you can file again! its great do nothing and get paid! my ex husband was on it for a year and he got more then he actually made! ( although with him home all the time it reallyy sucked for me... now we are divorcing lol so sad!)

1.) Pass out 'How am I doing' cards to your customers, improve what they think needs improved.
2.) Tell your manager your doing your best and you need your job and yadda yadda yadda, make sure to cry.
3.) If your manager doesn't listen, go over his head. Those 'problems at work' hot lines work wonders. Many managers have gotten transferred/fired where I work from people calling it.
4.) If the above 3 fail, refer to forty's post

When I was 17 I got fired for something that wasn't my fault, but rather because I had a manager who was completely inept. I was actually happy to get fired.
My next job I had a very cool boss, who I am still friends with, and got paid four times as much money as the previous job. So my advice would be to start looking for a new job now... it sounds like almost anything you can get will be better than working with an idiot manager.
