    #3731852 - 02/04/05 06:08 PM (19 years, 1 month ago)

1.)-What brand of coco coir do you guys generally buy.

2.)-What method of ph buffering to you use? (ex.)"hydrated-lime,oystershells, ect." If so what brand.

3.)-What brand of verm do you guys use, and is it the thick or thin grade stuff?

1. Doesn't matter, just make sure its coir, not fiber...
2. I use ground oyster shells or some other form of calcium carbonate. Just be very careful with hydrated lime if you go this route, as you can burn up your casings easily...
3. I use whatever I can get my hands on. Horticultural verm is usually close to medium grade...

Its not really required, but it'll help out with subsequent flushes...

It's generally not required, as coir/verm combinations tend to be pretty close to neutral pH. However, multiple flushes will make a casing more acidic; the oyster shell helps to keep the pH stable, thus making more healthy flushes possible.

Exactly what I would have said.
