well i have been diagnosed with severe ocd since i was 8. i am not a clean freak but am the mental and perfectionist type. i am aabout to begin my research of the effects of magic mushrooms on my own types of ocd. i am begining with 3.5 grams in darknness with music. and every two weeks will up the dose a half gram. I will update the results as i figure them out. I will have a sober individual charting my behavior while intoxicated and the after effects. i have also asked my therapist to chart my symptoms. i hope to help anyone out there with the same condition as me.

good luck rewiring your mind
if you feel 2 weeks is too short after the last trip just wait a little longer, don't trip because you have planned to do every 2 weeks.

My thoughts exactly. Don't trip because you're forcing yourself to keep a schedule...the shroom might not like that...

so what just do it whenever it feels right? I am just trying to keep this as objective and scientific as possible. was going to eliminate the inconsistent time variable but i guess it needs to go. any other suggestions regarding my processes?

Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to tell you how to do your experiment or anything, I'm just saying be careful. The risk of a bad trip raises significantly if you dose when you aren't really in the mood. A bad trip could lead to anxiety which in turn could lead to MORE ocd symptoms.
Just be safe and if you aren't in the mood then my advice is to try not to force yourself.

Be careful, as individual sensitivity along with mushroom potency fluctuate quite drastically.

I don't believe the point of the research is to get the people tripped out of their minds. I believe it is on very low doses, ranging from psiloc(yb)in content similar to .1-.3g of cubensis. It would probably be to your advantage to read up on some psychology and the disease itself (which you probably already have).
Personally, I don't know what goes on during these studies, but my gut tells me these people aren't watching reality shatter into shards of glass and see if they want to put the pieces back together or not. I believe it is more subtle, and in a controlled environment.
If you want to sit in darkness with the risk of a total mindfuck (as is common with disorders such as OCD, anxiety, schizophrenia) go for the gusto. Just be careful.
Also, I don't think upping the dose half a gram every week would be a good idea. Why not start low, with a control group of mushrooms (i.e. the same batch that should contain relatively similar alkaloid content)?
You may just end up tripping a lot.

Interesting.. good luck man!
Yeah, I have OCD also. I've had it for a long time, since i was a little kid. And the manifestations have changed over time and new ones continue to develop. It's been really fucking bad lately though. I mean it has been most of my life, but this year it's gotten real bad again. A lot of my manifestations tend to be stranger than most as well...
I went to see that movie "The Aviator" a few weeks ago because I heard it had this subject in it and I thought the movie was great. It was really emotional for me to see DiCaprio play the illness so well too. Have you seen this movie?
