Darkening Caps

Hello. My fruits start off well, but then, before getting very large, their caps darken, look a bit slick, and they get no larger. Is this a humidity problem? Fresh air problem? Cake exhaustion (they are on their 2nd flush after dunking)? Please help! Any remedy appreciated. Kit

Yes, if there's a slick look to the caps, then there's too much moisture. Remember to lower humidity for healthy growth of fruitbodies--no higher than 92% for casings and 95% for cakes. Fan more and if you don't have one already, get a humidity gauge (a hygrometer).
