a new paradigm
    #3728429 - 02/04/05 02:14 AM (13 years, 1 month ago)

each organ and gland in your body has its own 'mind'. (I will not be defining the word 'mind' here or anywhere else.) this accounts for how it is able to carry out its assorted tasks---it uses its mind. when is controlled by the brain, which is just another organ. (if that... where do you draw the line between 'organ' and 'bunch of nerve cells'?)

so the task of the brain is to coordinate all the other organs in such a way as to promote the continued survival of the organ collective (henceforth 'organism'), and thus ensure the transmission of genetic data.

But in addition to this task of coordination, the brain (like the other organs and glands) has a mind. but just as the brain is situated at the top of the bodily hierarchy of organ control, so the mind of the brain dominates all the other minds in the body.

each organ's mind makes up a part of my personality, yes? however, my brain's mind mistakes the sum of all bodily minds for itself. this is why some of my motivations are hidden from myself. the brain's mind is a Part mistaking itself for the Whole.

this paradigm is unique, in that most paradigms which consider hierarchical whole/part relations will allow as to how a Self, a Mind, or what you will, is a manifestation of Whole mistaking itself for Part. i.e. Non-duality. this philosophy I turn on its ear. thank you.

Sometimes the mind in my genitals gets me in trouble, so I prefer to listen to the mind in my brain.
