Regardless of what you believe and wheather he existed or not, what do you think of him as a character, as a man?
Is he a smart person, a revolutionary, a genious, a nice guy to be friends with...
or do you think he was an idiot and a naive hippy and a tough guy to understand/talk with?
Would you love him if you knew him? Not as a son of god, or whatever, but as a fellow man.
And if you were there, would you be for crusifiction of him or against it? How would you react to him had you been living there in that time?
Please be honest here. Try to not act a saint, and be honest to yourself.

Um.... cant say I know they guy. Not sure many people could actually say they do. Now, since there were no tape recorders, or video cameras, or really good sketch artists and stenographers back in jesus' supposed day, all we really have to go on is second hand heresay. I think the idea, and grandeur of jesus has snowballed into this really good moral story, and then it was attached to this person who wasnt even named jesus really. Id like to think that at that time , i would be down with the whole peace and goodwill to all men thing. Chances are though, I would be like any other person throwing stones and pointing a finger. I couldnt take anyone seriously if they told me they were the saviour of mankind..... Kind of like George Bush.

+++ Y'shua is my spiritual Master, the Universal Human, my model for Human Development. As a Jew myself, Y'shua is the kind of Jew I aspire to be - embodying the highest morality which is grounded in the metaphysic that "GOD is love" (1 John 4:8) and yet transcending the particularities of the culture of Judaism. He is the Way [to be] regardless of what culture any of us are born into. Plato and Buddha - contemporaries - both represent the epitomy of human philosophies, West and East, and all they represent aid me in my preparation to become Christ. The alchemy of theosis, of becoming Christ, is however, attained by Grace, not by achievement +++

I wouldn't say ripped off, but Greek philosophy had certainly influenced Judea by the time Jesus showed up. This was due to the invasion of Alexander the Great and the Hellenization of the known world, including Israel. Christians say that Christ came in the fullness of time, and I believe that Greek philosophy had to commingle with Jewish monotheism before the time was right for people to be able to grasp the significance of the Incarnation. Jesus didn't rip off Socrates.
St. Socrates was just another one of the prophets, like John the Baptist and Isiah, who foreshadowed his coming.

I don't really see that. Jesus spoke in parables and taught lessons about compassion and forgiveness. Socrates would question people about their own ideas and deconstruct them to show the ignorance behind them. If anyone has ripped off Socrates' spiel, I'd say it's Swami.

He was like John the Baptist; "Making strait the way of the Lord."
He taught the immortality of the soul. He discovered that the one source of all being was absolute good, the "Form of Good". He believed in ritual bathing for the forgiveness of sins. His martyr's death in a sense foreshadowed the death of Christ.

i cant say that he was a loving caring man, never met him.genius i would say so.
i think Jesus was a hybrid of human and Deity.created to spawn a working class of people to carry out the plans of the Deity.
i chose to use the word Deity for a reason here, but that's not the term i would use.

Haha, how could you really call him a hippy when everyone then had long hair & wore sandals? Anyhow, I've never met him... but I hold 'him' in high stances because of the (possitive, that is if he existed...ooo, I said it )impression he made on history.

Clothing? I love to be able to wear such simple things, those rags are really cool I think.
I am alowed to wear beard (thank god), but I would get mocked to go on the street in such clothing.
