Hongus, VERY NICE! Great pics too. Just search for "Grow-brick" and you will find plenty of places to buy it online.

though 3m says the gc's grow thick & small (and they did mostly), we had one HUGE gc mf'r- 35 gm wet that printed a 3"x3" black circle TWICE... we would have had a pic of that one & its prints but HQ's pc crashed and more pics went with it :( 3m's gc was extremely prolific (syringe was won from 3m in one of his awesome contests, so a plug is appropriate i think); better than the mexicubs in HQ's opinion just for their speed and aggressiveness... but the mexi's are so pretty and so dense. puerto ricans are being outlapped by the gc's and the mexi's, but are very thick in themselves (print from ralphster44 & the Free spore ring ::grin:: )... not as conical as the pics ive seen posted around of it, but some do have that "droopy headed" shape... the pics above are all pf jars, no birdseed. ::grin:: 3- 1/2 pints in each deep rectangle gladware container (2 for $5, plus a bottle of meat marinade at our local grocery store), clear, electrical-taped sides (helps to block light and also serves as a nice guide for making casing layers even). 1/4"-1/2" verm layer on bottom, 1/2" or more coir on top a la Casing for dummies... the verm layer was completely dry at the end of the 1st flush, and the same amt of h20 was added back to the casing after harvest. coir was gro-brick brand, Windowbox carries it. check if you have a local hydro shop- we found one and it sells it hella cheaper than online, plus all the other goodies you could need. and lotsa lights to make you dream... :) next time, HQ thinks a deeper casing layer (4-5 1/2 pts, or 2+ quarts of seed) would probably make for larger fruits. and also, finally getting a cool mist to work would help too :) prints of all 3 will be making their way to the fsr soon...

hehe bluemeanie, we forgot those, huh. good eye! these are 3-1/2 pints of pf tek type jars cased as detailed above in my previous post.
45 degree view; caps just beyond opening. the caps are actually creamy whitish tan, the ring is slight sporulation.
same casing, side view. we noticed that the puerto ricans are more responsive to light than the other 2. mexicubs and gulf coasts seem to grow straight and tall, mc especially- without a direct light source, while the puerto ricans grew to the light on the sides of the terrarium and had the characteristicly twisty (well, twisted) stems.
these are part of the 1 & 1/2 flush :) pins appeared days before harvest of the 1st flush. very different from the first- these pins are fatter (not fat asses, just thicker) than the 1st flush pins are. dont want to say shape shifter; just the same but larger.
i love these forest pics h takes ::grin:: if you notice, these do not have the *droopy* caps that ive seen in other pr pics. they are almost perfectly 1/2 cylindrical instead... like a ball cut in half. heavy stems with a small hollow centre. btw, the hype behind prs is NOT fake... these are awesome! (ill post more about them later, baking has me unable to post coherently...) ::laughing::

'S what I got colonizing right now. (first time.. Probably should've chosen something easier) Just hope I can get even a fraction of the forests I keep seeing.. I'm jealous =) -Mark
