It is about 3 inches long with a white stem with light brown yellowish cap!

CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm new at this myself, but when I saw that first shroom popping out of the cake... it made it all worth it. All the hours spent on this message board, all the contaminated jars I had to chuck, all the rushing home to fan and mist, all the vermiculite permanantly stuck to my hardwood floors, the lugging of the 20 gal fishtanks from the pet store, the worrying that I was fucking everything up, the prayers to the mushroom goddess, the permanent brain damage I'm sure I have from inhaling lysol, the perlite mess, the searching at flea markets for an ultrasonic... all seems insignifcant when you pick that first baby.

I actually haven't eaten any of mine yet (saving them for my trip to the country) but when I do, I bet they'll be better than any I've ever had, because of the love, blood, sweat and tears I gave em. Enjoy.

glad to hear i'm not the only one with bad reactions to the copius amounts of lysol! My glands swell up HUGE for a day or two after my lil lysol sessions even wearing a good dust mask.

Congratulations!  Sounds & smells like success to me!:)

I know how amazed & sort of humbled I felt when after all the hassle, not sleeping all that much at times because my brain was trying to figure out the best thing to do for my babies; wondering if I'd fucked up the parameters, to finally be rewarded with a healthy little shroom that you alone cultivated - well it's pretty damn satisfying, isn't it!
