I just started using an US. Been in use for a few weeks. Today I decided to clean it because I noticed some wierd stuff on the bottom of the tank. It was pink and made a light coating in cracks and crevaces and has a greasy consistancy. The US has a filter which I will have to replace now. Use only city tap water which has plenty of clorine in it. Once in awhile I'll add a little bleach (prob shouldn't may hurt US)to the tank to clean things, but I get this anyways. Any one know what it might be and how I can avoid getting it again? I think it clogged my filter and aftected the operation. Operation has been erratic. thanx NOS
Washing it with bleach water makes sense, but not to run bleach water through it, 'course the city water already has enough chlorine in it. I would run distilled water if I ran a US, just giving you a reply here and a thought. GL
