a novice asking the experienced....it's been said that one does'nt need to buy a kit and i did read some proceedures using odds&ends and i agree. but i'd like this to be nice and tidy and am willing to buy something to help with this project. i came across the soulfood kit at mushroom magic.
any advice on What to look for and avoid ? i want to grow azurescens...not the easiest i hear.

soulfood kit will definately work, you just pay more than you need too. you could make the same thing for less than half the price with shit from walmart or menards. i wouldnt recomend starting with azures. theyre much harder to cultivate than cubensis

yeah. this was the other reason for trying a kit....tricky azurescens. whatever. i found a link in sporeworks.com that supposedly has alot of this cheaper stuff. but since 2 days ago i have'nt been able to get back into the damn site (can u get into sporeworks?). i'm also concerned about this contamination thing. sounds as if you give a jar or sawdust a dirty look it will get contaminated!

heim- sporeworks has been down for the past few days (the domain name, not the site). follow this link to psilocyber!'s post about it and how to connect :)

If you are a beginner... start with what beginners start with..
did you learn to run before walking?
simmilar idea..
azures defy, in general, indoor cultivation.. and outdoor is prone to a variety of potential problems..
I am not saying do not think about going with azures, just start with cubs.. then maby pan trop/cyan or simmilar.. then maby azures..
also, read every tek listed here, then go buy TMC (the mushroom cultivator) and GGMM (growing gormet and medicinal mushrooms) both staments...
do you dive before looking whats in the pool? education!..
