how hard is it to learn how to grow indoor vs. outdoor
    #3723147 - 02/03/05 01:49 AM (19 years, 1 month ago)

indoor= keeping everything sterile and shit
outdoor= let nature do its thing, provide a good clean environment

i was thinking indoor, but i was also thinking outdoor.
i have a shed type dealie... would i be able to make an open air mushroom planter? the shed is room with bikes ans stuff in it (not too cluttered) with big gaps under the doors and little insulation (fresh air circulation). Could i use a big conainer of soil with the proper fixings to grow (whatever that might be). would they grow or would they likely be unhealthy? i don't want to have to worry about inoculation and all that.

my idea would be like growing weed minus the lights, if that clarifies my strategy.

Regardless of whether you grow indoors or out you will need to produce spawn, which involves "inoculation and all that". The best place to start is the FAQ. Good luck.

Exactly.
No outdoor without indoor.

as anno asid.

but by being in the shroomery 24/7, buying yourself a nice presure cooker
and using your head from time to time - cultivation is really something
more or less straightforward, as so many others already say,
it aint rocketscience

keep on trying!

i guess once i get familiar with the jargon and how the various strategies work, then it should be all gravy.

what's the average set up cost from having nothing?

I noticed everyone forgot to mention , depending on your climate where you live ... OUTDOOR you are completely at the mercy of Mother Nature , so if enviro conditions are not just right ... NO MUSHIES  . With INDOOR you have control over this very important key . Now with all your spent cakes\casing you could still set up an outdoor patch and possibly enjoy both worlds .  :sun:

I know you do. Thats cool though.

Hey now..I was reading the tie your shoes post (skipped over most the post..school in a minute) and read quickly...I thought it said its as easy as TIE DYING your shoes. I was like WTF? I don't even know how to tie dye my shoes but I can grow mushrooms. Hell I cant even figure out how you would tie dye shoes, let alone do it. I was upset since I'm not only over 4, but I'm over 16 and still couldnt tie dye my shoes...

I was only upset for a minute though so dont anyone lose any sleep over me or anything.
