I have seen some good results in speeding up colonization in 1/2 pint jars useing five innoculation points. Put a nail hole dead in the center along with the other four, and watch the bottom collonize as the sides do (not after.) I've even done seven holes (six around perimeter, and one in the center.) The chances of contams is increased via the syrienge, but, if you use some alcohol fueled flame in between innoc sights you should be okay. The seven hole thing can be used to innoc low-form, wide mouth, pint jars with approx the same amount of time as 1/2 pints...

It's all comes down to economics vs. patience, or the lack thereof...but in this hobby, patience is a necessary trait at some points in time. There really is no reason that a full syringe should be used on 4 or at the most, 5 jars innoculating 7 points each..

patience....i know patience is essentual in this hobby...but...

That really is an interesting point, 40...An interesting poll for vets would be: 'How have your preparation habits changed since your first attempt'...I remember I was unbelievably neurotic my first time growing!
