I would expect an average of 3-5 dry grams per 1/2 pint PF.

If you can keep your growing paramaters right.

Props on doing 36 Pf jars! Thats a LOT of work!

if you want to increase your yeilds, look into a simple casing tek. If done properly, it will give you much better yeilds then just fruiting your cakes.

I just finished with my first grow using the same method and was very pleased with the results. I followed the pf tek using brf and did not even dunk my cakes until after the first flush. I did 5-1 pint jars and got 2ounces,4 grams of cracker dry cubes--ecuadorian strain. I even had to toss one full cake cause it looked a little off to me. I would not recommend using the 1 pint jars though, stick with the 1\2 pint cause the 1 pints present a challenge removing the cake without bruising the hell out of it. I am now using 1\2 pints. You can do the math to figure out my results for consideration when estimating yours. It really depends, I imagine, on the conditions you grow the fungus in. I fanned three to four times per day. I used a perlite lined rubbermaid as a fruiting container and I used 8\16 light for fruiting. I also used hydrogen peroxide in the water I used to dunk. Other than that, the mushrooms grew themselves!

I have gotten almost that much from 1 pint cake. My avitar is a 1 pint cake with 100 wet grams.

In Libertycapper's grow he averaged 6 dry grams per 1/2 pint.

Maintaining optimal growiung conditions have the biggest impact on yout results.

Depends on you...and your growing conditions.

I used to average 7 to 9 grams dry...per 1/2 pint cake...per flush....back in the day.

So you say pint jars present a bruising problem huh? I'm also on my first grow. SO FAR I've got 6 pint jars 4 days into incubation and I'm in the middle of boiling 3 quart jars, 2 pint sized drinking glasses, and 2 shot glasses. Kinda ghetto with the glasses but I've used all the jars I can find at the moment. I have enough BRF and verm. to boil a new batch of jars/glasses/shotglasses every day for the next year. I'm thinkin about bustin out the tupaware and oven bags pretty soon here!
I've got the same setup you described libertycapper.
By the way, would you recommend dunking the cakes before the first flush or wait till the second?

--------------------
As I held the dark syringe close to my ear I heard a small voice, "If you build it, they will grow." With a quick jab at each jar, I injected two cc's in each. Soon enough, I was chomping on the sexiest handfull of nipples I had ever seen. A tear ran down my face. I could feel their warm touch soothing my soul. It was so beautiful that all I knew to do was cry out with laughter. All the love I had shown them was returned with the most concentrated and potent form of love known to man.
great sex

it sounds like you want a very high yield, you should case to do this. with the number of cakes you have, you can easily make a TON of casings, and yield dry pounds...

well if casing does get you a better yield ... how do you all recommend i go from pf tek to a casing method (remember I'm a newbie so a step by step would really help )

I'm glad you pushed me toward the casing technique ... my only question is what is the best casing layering to use (mixture)? I've seen on some other forums that coir (wtf is that) verm. and oyster shell (where can i get that?) were used as a casing layer but if someone can tell me the best casing layer i would really appreciate it

::TAKE THIS ADVICE:: cause it took me a long time...

If you are worried about large yields, which I assume you are by your spawning 36 jars - you should not be using the ole' pf-tek. The pf-tek is a tek designed for beginning mycologist where yields should not be considered for educational purposes.

So my advice to you is read up on casing as soon as possible, granted your 36 jars are still in the colonizing period. Casing soil is cheap and really easy to make, as well as casing trays - and that's all you need. You could even use the fruiting chamber you were gonna use for tha pf-tek. So cost will be cheap and yields will raise substantially. As the chart of data below will explain, and is an option to you if those 36 jars are still in incubation stage.

::Provided no Contamination - And perfect conditions::
-pftek for your 36 jars = 180 dry grams _ 6.4 ounce dry <-Max.
-casing tek for your 36 jars = 360 dry grams _ 12.8 ounce dry <-Avg.

_______Math Used to Get above Figures_______
__(Estimates from extensive yield research @ shroomery)__

10 dry grams per half pint (cased brf)
10 dry grams x 36 half pint jars = 360 dry grams (cased brf)

5 dry grams per half pint (pf-tek)
"Notice this 5 dry grams is max of the average 3 - 5 dry grams per half pint (pf-tek)"
5 dry grams * 36 half pint jars = 180 dry grams (pf-tek)

You sir, have inspired me. How long did it take for those pint jars to fully colonize.

Be peaceful man.
Props on the 36 jars man honestly, your gonna have a lot of fruit to learn from.

i think that will yield about 200-300 dry gram, considering all flushes

Did it take you 5 months to come up with that calculation? Or, did you miss the date of the most recent post? The Original was over 5 years ago.
