I think Atl and surrounding areas are suppose to get freezing rain and sleet over the weekend. That will prolly stop for the year for sure.

Takes longer than a few days of warm weather for the mushrooms to come out. Its like a plant they have a season and the weather has to be warm for more than a couple of weeks atleast to jump start the fruiting process. I have transplanted mycelium in my yard that is thriving under my transplanted bermuda but it wont fruit till sring. the entire ptch is white underneath, i am excited to see what i get out of it this year. as you can see i have plenty left lol...

will it? Can anyone comment .. the ice was pretty thick, and still is, and it is supposed to be just as bad till tomorrow afternoon... It took me 30 minutes to de ice my car, and the roads were slick ! I saw at least 3 cars sliding out of control, and multiple vehicles crashed or run off the road waiting for tow trucks! People in the south don't know how to handle that stuff. So- I wonder if the mushrooms of the south can handle it? I would imagine it has froze like this before, or even worse, and the Weilii still survived. I just wonder if it will effect the already short spring seasons chances.

well my mycelium is fine, and actually under that sheet of ice it was covered by the bermuda so i think it was somewhat incubated. it has really grown since i transplanted it about 3 or 4 months ago. I have high hopes for spring...

that is good it is going strong.. I can't wait to see how it comes out.. Just curious, to start your patch, you snipped the bottom of the mushroom stem that has a little mycelium on in and transplanted to your spot? I am going to do that hopefully.. Weilii in your own yard would be a dream come true :crazy2: :mushroom2:
Anyways, it is raining again here in N-ATL, I bet the dormant mycelium is beginning to awake from a deep slumber all winter.. preparing for big things :mushroom2: :crazy2:
