Food Dehydrator

How much does a standard food dehydrater cost? And is this efficient in drying wet mushies.

This is to people who use a dehydrator. Is it worth the extra money for a dehydrator or should I just keep using damp-rid. With a lot of fruits though, it can take 3 or 4 days to get cracker dry.

Some opinions about dehydrators would be great. Worth it? How long does it take to dry them?
thanks

HOw hot is too hot for a dehydration. It might be at the expense of potency.

Well I assume the tea is not at boiling temperatures.

Anyone know what the max temp a shroom can take before it starts losing potency ?

When a man thinks, there is a spot of fire alive in his mind---and it is proper that he should have the burning point of a cigarette as his one expression."

You can use a Ronco or any other dehydrator (without thermostat)if you put a fan underneath. It will keep the temps down and help dry them out quick.

You probably want to keep it a little lower than that. 110 win't degrade the psilocibin but the psilocin would take a kit

Walmart sells Snack Master brand dehydrators for about $40 with a homemade jerky kit that has a thermostat that you can set at 95*

Depends where you buy one.

I agree with Agar on brands....American Harvest Snackmaster dehydrator is a great choice.
It has a dial temp gauge on this model...you can set it at 95 degrees F. and not worry about any potency loss to your little friends.

I have picked up 3 of these models from the local 2nd hand stores that were in like new condition...they looked like they had never been used, and they probably hadn't been used.
And I only payed like $4.99 to $6.00 for each one.
Buy several and use all the trays in one unit...you can stack up to 12 trays on one unit...and keep the extra base units for back up...in case you wear one out.

Picture of the American Harvest Snackmaster Pro 2400 dehydrator

These models go for around $59.95 new in the store...and they only come with 4 trays.

You can pick one up off Ebay semi cheap...$8.00 to $40.00
Example of one on Ebay that is for sale with 9 trays....Click here!~

Again...I suggest checking all the 2nd hand stores that are in your area for one.
Once you use one of these you will never go back to other methods.

Good luck!~
