Actives are gone, Amanitas In?

Californians and Pacific Northwesterners, have you been seeing Amanitas around during your hunts? Haven't been hunting a while but was debating going hunting for some Amanitas considering active season is about done here in California.

I've seen some A. pantherina around recently, muscaria seems to fruit more in the fall here.

but I agree, I wouldn't mess with amanitas.

They have an effect, just not one that is particularly exciting. I find that small doses (3-5 medium-sized mushrooms) when prepared properly intensify the effects of marijuana in a pleasurable way. I rarely do this, however, because the blurry vision effect annoys the Hell out of me. Without marijuana, there is a slight physical inebriation effect along with a subtle alteration in my train of thought. Like I said, nothing to get excited about.

I have experimented with them plenty in moderate doses but never in large doses, which I have read can cause quite intense experiences that don't sound like a great time to me. So, this is why many people come to the decision to just stick with psilocybin.

My two cents.

Armanitas are hard to specify (At least for me) because the edible ones and the poisonous ones may look identical. If you do eat a poisonous one thinking it was edible, you might be in big trouble.

I've tried Amanitas and I felt inebriated for a few hours on a medium sized cap from Northern California of the Formosa variety in the fall-- basically meaning I had the one with shitloads of ibotenic acid and low amounts of muscarine, muscimol... etc. The pharmalogical aspects of this mushroom are intriguing and they are common just about anywhere with evergreen conifers like pines.

Amanita muscaria fruits int he Seattle region from Septem though December until the frosts. They come up early and are at their healthiest between SEptem through October. Then they get stale and moldy.

I got a ounce of the things and tried them twice. First was a little tiny bit, maybe a gram and I smoked a gram of worm wood extract. That was cool, I laughed for a second like I was insane.

The second time I just took a lot more amanitas, like a few grams and just got a nasty headache and thats it.

I found this lot in Sydney NSW Australia. A few years ago.

I can't wait until about May when they start popping up again.
