the invitro method is where the fruits (i.e. carpaphors {bad spelling}) are grown within the jar after the substrate has become fully colonized.

I have never tried it, and wouldn't personally consider as it seems to be kind of a "desperation" tek -- i.e. you need to hide your jars or can't figure out where to buy styrofoam tubs to make a terrarium or whatever.
