Stange feeling from Meditation
    #3714842 - 02/01/05 08:04 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

Earlier today while I was meditating I felt a sensation start in my toes and end up in my gentalia area, not necesiarly on the gentalias just radiating from that genral area. The feeling was of a warmth and tingleyness and it felt really good this surpirsed me so I started focusing in on this and it ended up going away.

What was this feeling and how can I prolong it?

I think there are two schools of thought on this subject. Some might tell you this is energy eminating from your lower chakra that you can manipulate.

I learned meditation out of the zen tradition, where the sensation you experienced is an illusion, your brain attempting to distract itself. Giving it attention will take away from your meditation practice. The same reason why young monks were instructed to, if they see the buddha during meditation, to kill it.

I've felt the same thing from both meditation and astral projection. On astral projection it's even more amazing than I've ever had it on meditation, but I have no clue why it feels so good.

What is astral projection exactly, ofcourse I could google it but i'd rather have a first hand account of it.

It is when you have your astral body, or an inner body of light as an oversimplified explanation, rise out of your physical body. It requires a deep meditative, almost dream-like state, but it is different than meditation in that it often requires concentration and an intent rather than just being in the moment, and after you rise out of your body, it is unlike anything you'll have experienced before.

If you've heard of out-of-body experiences, which include people who are near to dying seeing a tunnel of light or looking down on their bodies, they are similar to astral projection, but astral projection is willed by the person and can be explored much more deeply because of that fact.

how do you remain inviting to wild birds yet not become a trap for them.
this energy event is less than the visitation of a wild bird.

I would reccommend staying with the primary meditation
remain with bare attention to the event, but do not spend time encouraging it or try to snare it.

You can sense these without going to deepmeditation, or then Im in deep meditation right now because I feel this kindof tingles and energies all the time during my day.

It's fun to concentrate on the energy and have it move all through your body, try localizing it in your baby fingertip and have it jump through all five fingers individually, then keep it rolling. The energy will do anything you tell it to.

I have funky feelings too, when I'm falling asleep, which I can focus on and even move around in my body. question is, is it all in my head (whatever that means)? and is it useful, or just a distraction?

I find it useful. If say you want to relax, as the energy moves through you tell it to relax every muscle it passes over, and it will. It may be all in your head, but isn't everything?

It's all in your head, along with the rest of reality.

yeah, it relaxes my muscles. but here's the kicker: I don't meditate. I get it just fine as I fall asleep, especially after I smoke pot.

often times after I smoke pot, my core (like near the first and second chakras) heats up tremendously. I find myself often having to stand up because my ass is so uncomfortably warm(even now in the winter!) Dunno what this might be, but it makes me laugh!

Moon full of stars and astral cars, all the figures I used to see

We went to heaven in a little rowboat
There was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt

It seems that when you cut off stimuli you just end up with false positive stimulus. I admit that I am only beginning to learn how the brain words, but I will try to give a related example.

Have you ever been itchy while you were asleep, maybe it was the blanket or you had taken some kind of medication that made you itchy before you went to sleep. And then to throw off the covers, jump out of bed, and brush yourself off because thought ants were crawling all over you? Or perhaps you slapped yourself where you thought a spider was crawling on you? This is your brain making up extra details about something you do not know. But even after you turn on the light and there are no ants or spiders it's a little difficult for you to rationalize that there were no bugs because you felt them so clearly.

Research sensory deprevation. When used in conjunction with some drugs the experience of getting cut off from sensory input for an extended period is pretty damned interesting, especially when used in conjunction with  :syringe:  :mushroom2:  :spliff:
