heating my grow chamber (terrarium)

last time i built a terrarium, I heated it with heating pads... kind of indirectly, and ran it on a timer. it worked ok, but I always kind of thought it was a fire hazard :shocked:. anyways... I don't have a lot of control over the temp in my apartment, but I've been taking temperature readings for a month, and on average (/me whips out win-calc) the temperature gets as high as 85 deg F, and as low as 76 deg F. I don't need to raise the temperature much really... or should I leave good enough alone? and what would be a good method to heat your terrarium?

For cubies those temps are fine for fruiting. I would heat only if you want to speed up colonization of jars. But not very much. And remember, heat will lower humidity.
