drying only with a fan

My friend would like to know if it's ok to dry her mushrooms using only a fan and/or light... No dessicant, no oven, nothing else... Possible?

Thats how i dry mine and it takes only two days.I keep them in a closet thats about 35%RH and put the fan on high.Works great.

I'd choose a fan over a light, and I'd avoid heat.

i've seen some posts where people recommend packing the shrooms in rice and running a fan over them -- although I've never tried it, it sounds efficient and cheap ;P

I don't see any problem with just using a fan, providing that the humidity isn't high. It can get really humid where I am so i've always dried them with a fan first & then used dessicant - as long as you're careful not to let it come in contact with the shrooms, its really easy AND fast!

If you live in an arid/semi-arid climate, like myself. Then fan drying is all you need to do to get dry shrooms.

That rice thing sounds like it would work. I read somewhere that rice absorbs moisture, so my friend might try putting her shrooms in some rice and get a fan blowing them...
