I was wondering if psilocybe mushrooms even grew in this area. I live in southern British Columbia and I have looked at myco clubs' species lists (of mushrooms found on hunts) and I didn't see any psilocybes. I have a mushroom book that says cubensis grow in the eastern US. Have you ever found any?

Guy in BC: this area is filled with more shrooms then any other place (I think). Because it rains so much here in the fall and spring.
Guy in WA: right now while it's dry, you can look in green grass that's watered (some apartment complexes, some parks, people's yards, school yards, etc.) for blue ringers (psilocybe stuntzii). They grow all year round sometimes. Later in the fall look for liberty caps, cyanescens, and some more.
