Possible new verm seal tec..

I have tried the traditional verm seal and,the ramsey tecs.I had probs with the alum. ramsey tec.I just started a new batch with what ill call the cheesey Tec.Same old verm seal but with a piece of cheese cloth between the verm and the substrate.Has anyone tried this before?Can anyone forsee probs with this idea,do U think it seams sound?THANKS FOR ANY POSSITIVE INPUTT..

I don't know what a cheesecloth is, but I don't see the point of it. The verm is there for a reason: to keep contams out. Why do you need to add another thing? I'll stick with 1/2 an inch of verm.

I don`t think cheese cloth is fine enough to keep contams out, but I have had verm seal problems also, I have tried the micron majick filter discs and they are great, no contams yet on anything that I used them on

and they are cheap, at $15 for 100, probably cheaper than cheese cloth

do you guys use the filter discs with the PF jar tek?

that would be awesome if i could ditch the verm layer.

Just the simple verm layer minus the 'Ramsey Seal' personally does me just fine...The key is to not pack it in too loose or too tight...I have only lost one jar to contams in all of my many efforts.
