Picking Peter Picks Pyckelcia.. DB Kit
    #370637 - 08/12/01 12:31 PM (22 years, 7 months ago)

Alright..
I'm learning the ins & outs of this DB Kit.. and am wondering if I'm using a bad picking technique... because when I pick these shrooms.. large pieces of my growing surface seem to stick to them.. especially woodchips and tear away the surface. I also have huge spaces between the sides and the compost.. where shrooms like to grow & rot .. heh.. what should I do to the spaces ( now & in the future )?!

here are the pictures:

this one shows the woodchips/substrate stuck to my shrooms...

these two show the growing surface + gaps in sides..

Looks good to me. I'd say you're picking them just fine. Between flushes you can stuff some moist casing material or verm where the casing has pulled away from the sides.

I was very careful with mine too and I had similar results with the crooping surface. It's taken a few days to recover, but it is recovering.Nice mushrooms!
