Bruised pins

I dunked my cakes the other day for about 16 hourse going for a second flush. When I removed the cakes from the water they already appeared to have new pins on them. I patted it down gently with a paper towel but it still seemed to bruise them. Will they recover or turn into abhorts? Also is it normal for cakes to pin again that quikly and while submerged in water?

Dunking them merely recreates a heavy rainfall. You can do the same with a hand myster. If there is any shroms in your cake, this will usually bring them forth. Some of your pins may be too watelogged to continue but more should show.
