Mouthwash??

Hi guys,

I've got a casing that was doing nicely until about a week ago when I noticed a sour smell. I figured it was bacterial since i saw no sign of other contams and the sour milk type smell. Anyhow, I was going to spray it with h2o2, but couldn't find any when I noticed a bottle of Listerine that claims to kill 99% bacteria. The smell is gone now, now the casing smells minty fresh =). Is it safe?

Sadly, today the bad smell returned with a vengence. It was far worse than before, but minty at least. hehe.. So I dumped with whole casing. =( Better safe than sorry.

heheheh, it was worth a shot :) desperation gets the best of us :) even those of us too lazy to go to a pharmacy and spend a $1 on h202 ;P ...yeap, that's usually me too :)

Yep... I buy mine at an "Eckerds" (or whatever you have, CVS, JoeBlow's RX) or I've seen it at the grocery store (like... supermarket, with a pharmacy too) it's labeled "Hydrogen Peroxide" then it will give a percentage of h202 it contains, usually 2-3% get 3% or whatever's avail. The bottle is brown with a white top and white label. It's dirt cheap. 32oz for $.99 is what I pay.

I basically use it as an additive to perlite, and spray bottles, as well as for semi-direct spraying of contams.

I'm not enough of a scientist to explain how it works, but... in my experience it's been a help.

btw... I knew about the h2o2 at the pharmacy cause my grandmother always used to brush her teeth with it......... ughh. sterile-ass mouth I guess.
