No condensation with perlite tek?

Does anyone know if you should see any condensation on the sides of your chamber with the perlite tek? I have been stuck at home for a week without a way to wal-mart to get me a gauge. I was planning on birthing today, everything is ready to go. I just do not see any condensation yet on the sides of the chamber and would hate to mess it up at this point. How long does it usually take for one to see condensation with the perlite tek, hours or a day or more? Thanks for reading this. May peace be with you always, TUT

took about a couple days before i NOTICED condensation, maybe there before i don't know.

To speed up the process, shine an ordinary desktop lamp at your terrarium. After a couple of hours you should have condesation. ALtho the temp may be a bit high afterwards in your terrarium, just turn light off an hour for it to settle down.

Condensation is not a measure of humidity. It's a measure of dewpoint. If you've got a terrarium full of damp perlite, your fine.

I am using perlite in my terrarium and don't have any condensation either, but my hygrometer reads 100%. I can't get the humidity down under 90% without keeping the top of it open a little and even then it reads 100% sometimes.

i want to add , so much for not cheap hygrometers, cos mine is crap too.

well WAS crap i kinda recalibrated it and it SEEMS ok.


i read that wrap your meter in a wet cloth, leave for hour then come back it shoudl read 100, if not make it read 100.
