Band-Aids

Is it ok to cover the jar holes with the little round circular band-aides during Incubation? Will the jars get enough air exchange if done so?
Thanks

Do bandaids allow the air to exchange?

Wouldn't recommend band-aids. Better yet, buy a pack of coffee filters. Cover your entire jar with a coffee filter, and secure with a rubber band. It's not top-of-the-line protection, but beats messing around with band-aids for each inoculation point.

Yes, I also use band-aid on my grainjars. Over the polyfill.

On PF tek just put alufoil losely over the jar.. (the layer with holes is UNDER that foil ofcourse! ) One layer alufoil with holes, one layer alufoil without over that. Thats how I do it. Only 1 contammed so far.

Together with verm layer (and quick colonisation) its enough protection!
