After a few years of talking and a few months of work we finally got them finished. The supporter accounts and base features are now complete. The admin team is regularly approached by users asking what they can do for the website. We have never felt right accepting donations without giving something back in return beyond use of the standard site. The supporter program is your chance to support the site and get some neat features in return.

The way the program is set up, you enter our shopping cart and purchase a one, 6 or 12 month subscription. Alternatively you can use check or money order, see the post underneath for details.

Shroomery Supporter Features:

This purchase will provide you with a one month supporter program subscription.

Shroomery Supporter Features:

  • SSL Encrypted Connections
    Connect to the main page and forums via SSL using your current username and password.

  • Special discounts for Shroomery Merchandise
    Receive a 10% discount on Shroomery merchandise ordered through our store

  • "Shroomery Supporter" status under your name
    Optional special "S" flag similar to "M" and "A" flags for mods and admins

  • Maximum Upload Increase
    Maximum upload changed to 5 MB per day

  • Personalized username@shroomery.org email address
    User friendly secure web based client.
    POP3/SMTP/IMAP support

  • Web Space at shroomery.org/supporters/yourname
    Free hosting for your images and HTML. Currently JS and server-side scripts are not allowed, sorry!

  • Full size images
    Optional display of full size images instead of thumbnails on the BB.

  • Larger Avatars
    Supporters can have avatars with larger dimensions (currently 120x120 vs 80x80).

  • Increased Signature Length
    Supporters can have 1,500 characters in their signature vs. 750 for non-supporters.

  • Custom Username Colors
    Select a custom color or gradient for your displayed username

  • No Banner Ads
    All advertising on the Shroomery can be disabled for supporters.

  • Access to the Shroomery supporter forums

  • No private message expiration

Once the transaction is complete you will receive an email with a temporary link to activate your account. Follow the simple instructions and pick a custom email domain and password. Once this is complete, your account and new features are activated.

Upon activation you will find the new features under your preferences in "My Home". SSL and gradient support is listed under your user preferences. You will find the image manipulation options under your display preferences. The Supporter Forum is directly above The Pub.

Please let us know any problems you run into or any features you would like to see added. The growth of the feature list will match that of the response to the program.

We are aware that some of you are weary of Paypal and understand this issue. The administration is in the process of securing a standard merchant account so there will be an alternative payment method for those unsure of Paypal.
