krsna consciousness

I recently was handed a few pamphlet/books on campus about the Krsna (krishna) Consciousness Movement. I already have a firm belief that all religions are just different interpretations of the same thing, GOD. When I read about Krsna I was very suprised at how clear and unconvoluted everything was said. The structure and main points of their beliefs make a lot of sense to me, but I don't know if I agree with their end goal (to be liberated from the material world and live purely as krsna consciousness). I believe that physical and spiritual realms are not distinctly seperate and exist always at the same time at the same place and that it is just a matter of tuning in. Also they fall into the trap of saying that the KCM is the "only way" (but that was just that stupid pamphlet...)

But I also hear that they are cult-like and such.

It seems that this is worth looking into anyways. I just wanted to know what y'all know or think.

peace and love

You should check out more on Hinduism (Hare Krishna origins) it's really a beautiful religion. I love the eastern thought... oneness.

If the Krishna Consciousness folks make you nervous, why not give them the brush-off and go right to the source? The Bhagavad Gita is an enjoyable read with a surprisingly pragmatic philosophy. I bought the Easwaran translation and enjoyed it alot. It didn't necessarily make me a believer of anything, in particular, but it did give me alot to chew on.
