does mush need any nutrients to grow or could one go with only straight inert material, i.e perlite, vermiculite.

mycelium is alive, therefore it needs nutrients. Verm/perlite don't have nutrients...

If he knew he wouldnt be asking although I must admint the answer is quite ovbious. Yes, mushrooms do need nutrients in order to grow.

can dolomite limestone (calcium & magnesium) for the lawn and garden be used as a nutrient, mixed in honey or brown rice flour?...no smartass replies please...lol

Limestone is probably to basic(as oposed to acidic) for mycelium to grow on.
But try it and report the results.

Do people even read teks anymore it seems like they would rather post and hope to get it right.
There is a whole grow/find section here as well as most sites and beyond that the mushroom cultivator etc... They will give you 99% of the info and then if something is not clear then post it.
Not many people are growing there mushrooms anymore we are doing it for you (not the physical par but you get my point)
