2 Silly questions

Ok, I got my syringes today. On the MMGG it says to squirt 1/4 CC's into each hole of the jar. My syringe doesn't have CC's tho. It has ml. What formula would i use to convert them? When I'm done with the jars.. would it be ok to put them into a plastic container? Or do they need constant fresh air?

Does it go up to 12 ml or 10? If it's 12, then just squirt 1 ml into each jar (1/4 ml for each hole). If the syringe is 10 ml, do a bit less than 1 ml... Don't worry, you don't have to be exact. In fact, the more you squirt in, the faster it'll colonize... But don't put in too much, or the water ratio will change a bit. 1ml for each jar is used, assuming you are going to innoculate 12 jars. And the jars don't have to be put into a box or a container or anything, just in a clean place with the right temp (room temp, a bit higher for faster colonization.) No, they don't need air yet, that's after you birth them. If you want to speed up the colonization though, you could turn the jars on their sides and unscrew the lids a bit (1/4 turn) to allow for some air exchange. My friend usually only does this when the cake is just about 100% colonized, because air exchange can introduce contams... Good luck. LEGALIZE...Edited by Shiznitz on 08/12/01 06:28 PM.

you can put them in a plastic container, as the mycelium likes a higher humidity / co2 level during it's incubation stage. peace! -protocoldroid

yeah, just use that: 1ml=1cc (although I don't think it really does)

> (although I don't think it really does) 1 ml is PER DEFINITION 1 cc ! The same as a pint is PER DEFINITION 1/2 quart.
