Do you have any of yourself doing the paganini without all the distortion? You've got the speed and I'd like to hear it cleaner, can you do that?

no, I usually play the classical violin stuff with distortion, so I have more sustain

and it sounds kinda thin clean, I can play it that way, but it sounds better to my ears with distortion

it's nice man, I like the classical feel it has. Aslo my compliments for creating this; you're obviously a good guitarist
Aren't you in a band or something?

Sounds very Mikael Akerfeldt inspired, definitely a nice track though.

Definely not a bad thing, he is a great guitarist. The specific song it really reminded me of was the intro to "When"

I love that fucking song, I'm gonna have to break out that cd for the drive to work

nice adjectives PhanTomCat, you flatter me

thanks everyone, I still can't figure out how this got so many views, but I wont complain , it appears the masses are hungry for more geetar oriented stuff to be posted in this forum.  appease them fellow guitarists and band members , it's always cool to hear what other people are working on.

I can't add anything else to this. I definitely thought "I wish I would have made that up..." too hehe.

Do you just noodle around until you come up with something, or do you sit down and work things out mostly on paper first?

when I write stuff like that I'll usually just come up with a cool part or two and record it on my 4 track. then go back, listen to it and come up with something complementary to it.

I don't usually do any writing on paper, unless I just cant remember what order to play parts in. or maybe writing down chord progressions, I don't write the whole thing out on staff paper or anything.
