How long is spore syringe good for?

I have a few syringes of B+ and Eq that are about 8 - 9 months old. Are they still ok to use, they don't look contaminated and have been stored in a dark box and not exposed to light. This is hypotheticaly of course because I have an academic interest only.

i had one from pf for 2 years. i could see some strands of shit growing in it. every cake i innoculated with it became contaminated.
i think pf says they're good for up to a year and a half.

I'm about to find out how well a 2 year old B+ syringe does. I kept mine in the fridge wrapped in foil (to keep out light) the whole time since receiving it in the mail. I looked at it last week and the water is clear and the spores are still there!
