All the time i like to be very kind and good with all people, im not the guy that likes to offend someone or something like that, but i somehow get the feeling that other people manipulate with me because of this ...
Does someone have similar experiences ? And how do you deal with this ? Why are people so stupid that they always want to be evil and shit like that ...
Sorry if this is a little wierd topic, but i'm thinking about this lately and wanted to share with someone ...

Yeah I feel for ya man. I bend over backwards for my friends but sometimes it just feels compltely unappreciated. =(

I agree, I also have some altruistic tendancies, and they are often ignored.
I just try not to let it get to me. One of the best things to practice is doing things for others and not expecting anything in return. It gives you a sense of joy and happiness. Or at least that's what it gives me.

Yes, don't change. The world needs more nice guys. However, that doesn't make you a doormat. But you'll learn to spot the manipulative ones and avoid them as time goes on. And it's okay to speak your mind, be rude and tell someone off if all they're doing is just taking advantage of you...

Yeah that's fine not getting anything in return. But when it goes unnoticed, taken for granted, or sometimes completely forgotten or ignored, that's when it hurts.

don't worry, it's a good topic.
Being nice is something good, don't change that. Just try to learn and see when people are trying to take advantage of it and then just dont do what they ask (or whatever it's about). they'll soon understand that it doens't work with you anymore.
Keep being nice, if you do so will other people. show them the better way of life

I've worked in food for over 5 years now and served thousands of people...its hard for me to deal with how people are because I've experienced it in so many ways, but at the same time most people 'do' fit into categories...and most are good overall, but you can sense the nasty ones right from the start. Sometimes this gets me depressed knowing no matter how perfect I lead my life there will be so much evil around me, and I wonder if those people will ever be safe from themselves or another force? Just do the best you can with being kind and forgiving and don't be afraid to call someone out in an honest way. How can they be justifiably mad at you for shining light on facts? ~D

Just an little update ...
People started to respect my way of thinking and actually started to be like me in some way, i notice lately that i have more people arround me all the time and i'm really happy because people like me the way i am ...
As for the "manipulators", i ignore that kind of things, and they just stoped trying to use me ...
So, i just wanted to say, if anyone haves problems that i had before, my tip is just be the way you are, think and work positive, and you will see that everything will be ok !

i can definetly relate to this...at least this used to be the way i acted. of course people will take advantage of you if your overly generous, it happened to me before i got smart.
now, i didnt turn into the exact opposite. i dont take advantage of others charity, but i am very aware of keeping favors equal and i kindof count the ratio of good deeds done for me in relation to good deeds done for a person in any relationship.
where do i think it comes from? for me, at least, it was the desire for acceptance. now i really dont make it a focal point of life to be liked by everyone.
