Petri dish condensation
    #3702540 - 01/30/05 04:24 PM (14 years, 24 days ago)

My agar-filled petri dishes get too much condensation on the inside of the covers (lids). The water drips down onto the agar and negatively affects the growth of the mycelium. Is there any way to prevent these water droplets from accumulating? I don't particularly want to have to wipe away the water with a paper towel as I don't want to risk contamination. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

What causes the water to leave the agar?

I know what strikes me as odd about this. It is totally unnatural. The whole idea is just totally backwards.

So are historians going to look back at 'The Great Cake Eaters'? Damn. That was a backwards step in the evolutionary process. We left Shroomheads in the dust. Welcome to the new age of Vermheads.

I ONLY STUDY legal, edible mushrooms and mycology. Any mention of any other kind of mushroom is purely fictional, and pictures are ripped from the internet. I do not grow mushrooms!

Evaporation. Happens alot right when you pour it which can be resolved as Hamurabi described. It can just dry out from being stored incorrectly (or something..maybe they just dry out...I never really pinpointed why..never had much of a drying out problem with them either) which would cause water build up too. A little condensation I never had a problem with affecting growth much.

Growing with bags, start to finish (including my new grain and substrate prep)
Anyone looking to start bulk tubs/mono tubs/shotgun hybrids? Good tubs to use..
