I've never gotten into mushrooms, but I'm quite interested. It's winter now, so obviously there wont be any around for a while.
All I ever remember about mushrooms that sprout up in the woods surrounding my house and my back yard are what my parents had told me when I was much younger, whenever I would suggest to them that we throw them on our pizza Don't eat mushrooms on the ground, they are poisonous.
But I am curious now, as too what kind of mushrooms are growing around my home in the spring time. Does anyone know if there are mushrooms that are safe to eat for tripping purposes that grow wild in New England and New Hampshire?
Quote: 4. Do NOT ask what mushrooms can be found growing in your state or imediate area This information is easily found in the Mushroom Hunting FAQ and/or has been posted at least once elsewhere on the net.
And for identification you need to have a description, and pictures help too.
EDIT: New hampshire isnt in the FAQ, but Panaeolus subbalteatus might grow there.
