Pressure cook question
    #369923 - 08/10/01 06:30 PM (23 years, 5 months ago)

I have a friend who just bought a new PC...an 8 quart T-Fal.. The problems(or maybe questions) are that it has no guage, just 2 settings(in manual it says "for delicate food set to 1, for meat and defrost set 2"...if that helps)....There is no info on what pressure it cooks at(i assumed 15?)... Will this work out ok? Should he cook longer(difference in time for pf and bs?)
any help appreciated in advance :)

Well, set it at 2, anyways. Chances are that's 15 psi, although it might be 12 psi. You might want to check with T-Fal.

I've seen leaky pc's that prolly only had 8 lbs of pressure. After 20 minutes, sterilization was still complete.

Use either setting for 30 minutes and I would say you are good to go!
