transforming the flowhood to the better
    #3696757 - 01/29/05 05:19 AM (11 years, 10 months ago)

I did just notice that the air in a part of my flowhood is not
circulating so instead of having the working space horizontal maybe
a verticula one would be better? Any thoughts on this?

How do you mean circulating?

I used an incense and the smoke stayed in the grey area but
after awhile it traveled to the airflow and blew out.

Is this a problem? If you know where the gray area is, don't work in that area.

Yeah but the standing design would probably be better for G2G and
other things but I'll leave it as it is till I feel its inadequate or wanting to try something new

Hmm...
I have just seen the pictures of your hood AFTER the redesign...

Why did you decide to mount it this way? Why did you not leave it horizontal?

Less space consuming horizontaly and less dust collecting on the filter prior to use (if that makes sense )

If I'd have it standing like the picture to the right it would be even less horizontal and maybe more optimal aswell

Very nice! Takes way less space mounting the fan inside like that.

OK nice link Anno. But my question is, where is the work area?
Is that the room you place the flowhood in? Or you build a separate workspace where you connect the flowhood to?

Thanks,
MF

The work area is in front of the HEPA filter.

Inside that box, or "in open air"? If in that box, how? Doesnt it blow away spores?

What I didn't like about the flowhood on fungifun 1) it has no way to change the filter and 2)No access panel to clean the inside if needed or do maintenence.

Arp,good looking job.

MF,"in open air"

I did just think it over. If the area of the standing design (right)
is open then the flow might suck contams with it as it fall?

>1) it has no way to change the filter
If you use silicone instead of glue, you can simply screw the whole thing apart.

>and 2)No access panel to clean the inside if needed or do maintenance.
Again, you take a few screws out and have access to anywhere you want.

BTW, I have my flowhood for several years now and there was no need to do any maintenance, inside cleaning or change the filter.

I belive the flow will take the contam with it.Not letting the contam fall untill it is down stream and out of the work area.
