Next time, just back up and step on their big fake feet as you hit one over their head and off the back wall. That should be good for a laugh.

Jellric, i liked what you said about zenning out in the videogame.
i think about it alot it's that zone you enter where your movements, ideas, strategies, aiming, and reflexes become connected and flow with the grace of a ballet dance. you don't think about how far behind the lead you are, or that the other guy has a bigger gun, or that your down to 10% health - your just always 'There' and you can see or feel what you have to do next without thinking about it.
i have pondered many hours over the psychological effects of a deathmatch.
do you play HL2 ?
we should 1on1 sometime

do you play HL2 ? I've only played HL2 DM a couple times. I set up a server for testing. I haven't completed single player HL2 yet (2 chapters to go!) so I'm not yet ready for that. I'd probably get stomped at this point. Right now HL 1 is like an old shoe for me- a little worn but very comfy. But I do see myself transitioning to HL gradually. As for getting in the zone on video games..I definitely play at a high level regularly, but I can only say I was truly "in the zone" once. It was on "Joust" at Pine Tree Lanes bowling alley in their arcade room. As I continued to play the game I lost track of time and went into an extremely pleasant trancelike state of mind. The only thing that existed for me was the game.. I knew one thing for sure: I am unstoppable. I cannot be beaten. I knew that with certainty. Well that one quarter lasted for hours. On the periphery of my awareness I could sense a crowd gathering around me. As time passed imperceptibly my friends said "Let's go. It's getting late." I said "Y'all go on and come back later and pick me up." Well they returned later and I was still playing. Eventually I noticed the lights in the building starting to wink out and was told they were closing. So reluctantly I had to quit. I took the number one slot which remained as long as the machine was there at 7.4 million.
