Just inoculated, and I'm left with a few questions
    #3693218 - 01/28/05 01:26 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

I just inoculated 24 1/2 pint PF jars with equadorian spores. The jars have aluminum foil over the tops to cover the drilled holes. I was wondering if I should take the foil off the lids? Also should the jars be left lid side down or up when incubating? Anybody have a rough idea of how long it would take for each 1/2 pint jar to colonize with 4 spots of .5cc injected in each of Equador? Thanks

keep foil and lids on for all incubation. remove foil only if colonization stops (for gas exchange). keep jars with lid side up.
my ecuador jars took 1 month to fully colonize, but it was too cold. in ideal conditions it should take much less than 1 month, good luck!

Only flip and remove foil if colonization stops as said...untill then leave it..in the right temps you should have 100% colonized in 2-4 weeks. It can vary though.
