I was too lazy to search, but will xanax interfere with a trip or will it just chill you out during it? Will it bring you down?
I'm looking for something to keep my nerves leveled during the trip.

Yeah, just take the shrooms as is. downers + psychedelics = pointless waste of psychedelics. If you're nervous, have a couple beers or a shot or two.

disagree.....A high dose of xanax or any other benze will neutralize your trip to a degree but I find it very benefical to take a very low dose...1 mg around right after you eat your mushies. This takes away the anxiety and stocmach pains before a trip atleast for me.

I gotta disagree on this one, too.
I've dosed my meds (klonopin 2mg) before LSD, LSA, mesc, fungi, and other assorted trips. I think it's an excellent idea if you're the least bit nervous. I've never noticed a big difference in trip intensity. Same blotter, same cacti, same HBWR.. tripped 'as hard' with or without benzos. It *does not* affect visuals or that special trip place you reach.
SSRI's on the other hand..

Well, if you are going to take something I'd do it a couple hours before, so by the time your hitting your peak the xanax has worn off. It's really only the first hour where I get anxiety.

xanax brings me down within 30 minutes. Faster if I chew it. Colors are usually still there, but without the swirling motions.

Well Xanax is really fast acting even if you dont chew and just swallow.....it fully kickcs in within 15-20 minutes so if you get stocmach pains and anxiety/sweaty palms while doin any psychadelic, taking a football or half a bar bout a half an hour before you Come up (or a few munites after you dose) I think is the best method. I always keep a shit load of bars on hand when friends (especially girls) are planning on tripping---Just incase they are hvin a ad trip, you feed them a couple bars and start talkin withem. Within a half an hour, they are havin fun again :P

supernova dosed me up with some xanax when i was freakin out pretty hard. i didnt know what was goingon but it brought me out of my panic in no time at all! took away a lot of my experience but was necessary with the circumstances! i got it all out on my next trip though! calm your mind with thoughts of positivity! not benzo(good to have just in case... fight the urge though.

yeah, we were out tripping on a small boat fishing with our dad. The dude was freaking. I kept trying to give them to him and I knew he thought I was trying to poison him. About 20 minutes after taking them he calmed down.
Bad choice of setting.
