We've had some good rain the past few days and nice foggy cool weather so I went on the hunt. Found these in what seems an ideal location: lots of decaying wood chips sheltered from light and wind.

Sorry for the fuzzy pics; I got to close with camera.

To my (very) untrained eye these don't look active but would like a more experienced opinion. Thanks!

the shape of the mushroom resembles a cyan, but I am almost 100% sure that mushroom is NOT active... Also, it almost apears there is two different mushrooms in your photos. The first 2 pictures look like one type, and the last 4 a different type..

not active is for sure... as far as edible? I wouldn't risk it :puke:

We also need to know things like:

Are the gills free from the stem or attached to it? The easiest way to tell is to slice it in half vertically.
Are any parts of the mushroom sticky or slimy?
Do they have a distinctive odor?
Were there living trees nearby? Is it possible that some of them were growing from the ground under the wood chips and not from the chips themselves?
Were the wood chips from deciduous trees or conifers? (tougher question)

Some wild guesses (without additional info that's all you can get):

1. Psathyrella
2. Pluteus (hard to tell - is that spore print pinkish?) My first though is to call this one a Cortinarius because of the stem.
3. Pluteus

Happy mushrooming!
